Life in coronavirus... is not so different for me or most of my friends. We're about 9 months into lockdown now. Most of my friends are NEET or work low-skill service jobs (gas station, fast food, grocery store). We spend the majority of our time at home anyway. The people I know who lost their jobs are making more on unemployment than they made working; it feels
Maybe the aspect of life that's most challenging is going on dates.
How has coronavirus / the lockdown affected your life?
It means no Christmas party this year, which is kind of a relief.
#life #health? Is this facebook? Why are there hash tags in a BBS?
Tags offer multiple advantages to a "board" based system.
For one, a thread can be posted to multiple "boards" when it addresses several topics.
Secondly, tags can be used to focus on more narrow topics than broad boards cover (such as linux rather than programming, or biden rather than politics).
Thirdly, tags can be combined (eg http://0chan.vip/tags/meta+tech/ ) so that multiple topics be browsed at once.
Viewing 6 topics on http://4-ch.net for example means opening 6 browser windows; checking all boards means opening over 25 tabs. "Overboards" are becoming increasingly common on 4chan-like sites; multich is like an overboard of overboards. If you don't find tags useful, you can just use the "global thread list" mode, and if you don't find overboards useful either, you can just view a single tag's page and pretend it's a board.
In case the way this site is structured is confusing:
- /threads/ -- all threads
- /threads/local/ -- all threads from your current multich server (similar to single-board sites like sageru, post office, etc)
- /tags/ -- all tags (similar to the board index on 4-ch, tinychan, etc)
- /tags/random/ -- the /random/ board
The use of tags on imageboards is not unprecedented; danbooru and gelbooru are good examples of imageboards that organize their website using tags rather than "boards". There are several good articles that compare directories (one thing lives in one place) to tags (one thing can exist in several places); this interesting article says the relationship between a board and hashtag is like the relationship between modernism and postmodernism. If 4chan and 2channel are modern text- and imageboards, then Danbooru and multich are the postmodern form. Multich is not even the first anonymous board to use tags; 1chan.us attempted it in 2013
Why do you think boards/directories are better than tags?

Nothing has really changed for me. I work with a mask on and I go home and eat fast food, same as always. Any shopping I need to do is easily done during the week and the stores are packed as usual. I don't have friends. I don't go to bars or cafes or restaurants or sporting events or any of that stuff. I am honestly glad the norms are down at the level of lonely desperation I'vr been in for my entire life
>>3 is fucking a fucking retarded newfag
>>>/b/ and later >>>/r9k/ was pretty much a blog before the pedos abused imageboards.
You can still find >>>/soc/ in Googlechan.
Even before that, >>>/lounge/ was pretty much a thing, and soc.* amd talk.* always existed before the web.
I'm working on team collaboration software, so job-wise 2020 has been pretty good. It's getting old, though. I usually don't often leave my apartment for socializing, maybe once a month. After a whole year of not meeting up and hanging out with friends I really want to. Once this is over, I'll party hard I guess.
> Here’s some more truth: onetime means-tested checks of $600 is not a big victory, and not even the bare minimum that should be considered acceptable during an economic meltdown that has been punctuated by mass starvation and intensifying poverty.
God, so Americans are only getting $1800 total? How miserable...
